Simmons Beautyrest MM00717TW Ultra Flex Twin Bed

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

I thought buying the recognized brand name…means quality. It doesn’t on this air mattress. I have return defective units a few times. They all starting leaking air. I have had air matteresses for years.

Never experienced them leaking within the first month of owning it.

Most lasted 3 years of better. Buyer beware when buying this one.

Made in USA? No way..guess where? This item literally let me down! I had used it only once and it went flat!

I tried to find the leak but could not.I have tried 3 areo beds Too and have found out ALL air beds STINK !

I am better off using a good cot and sleeping bag with it. At least I won’t wake up on a hard floor!I bought this air bed 8 months before and i am hardly slept on this. now it has developed leak on upper middle side and that leakage is not stopable. i tried to contact manufacturer but not got succeeded. so beware of buying this air bed.Ive went through two bed in the past 2 months. It leaks without me doing anything to it. I havent done anything that would make it leak, only sleep on it at night. If anyone planning on long-term bed, i would not recommend this. This joke of a product lasted just 2 days (normal use, no abuse)! I purchased it new, looking forward to many years of use, like an old ‘Aero’ bed I owned for a few years until the valve broke. From the minute I inflated this sham ‘Simmons’ air mattress, I had a strong hunch it wouldn’t last, given how thin the plastic walls of this bed are (it reminds me of a cheap, thin beach ball type of plastic). After just 2 days of use, the bed started to leak due to a small hole that formed on the side! I tried to patch it up using the included ‘patch kit’, but it didn’t hold. STAY FAR AWAY from this lousy product, as it is shoddily and cheaply made. What a WASTE of about a hundred bucks! read more.

Somersize Chocolate

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

I like this diet a lot. It’s low carb and I get to eat carbs when I do it right. Delicious recipes. If you don’t mind shopping for Somersize sweetener, Somersize chocolate, Somersize white chocolate, etc. then this book would likely be a good one. I am sure that the recipes are good. I just didn’t have the energy to get MORE ingredients for my pantry that I might or might not get around to using. Suzanne looks great, and her recipes from other books were quite good. I was looking for easy chocolate recipes that were low in sugar that I could actually eat. I think I’ll just buy some Lara bars from my local grocer. Whew. Just thinking about shopping makes me tired, and I even like shopping at Amazon, but hate paying shipping – although many times that is free or less than the cost of gas to buy special ingredients from several different stores (as you are all well aware of). Still, if you don’t mind the shopping, the recipes look like they would turn out well.Suzanne’s recipes are always innovative and well thought-out. I never have any trouble concocting one of her recipes. Just to point out to the editorial reviewer–the “Level One” or “Level Two” is not a difficulty measurement. It is for the people who are following Suzanne’s way of eating, where a food item is considered Level One or Level Two. I really hate it when people write reviews who don’t do their research first. read more.

A Guide for Using Charlie & the Chocolate Factory in the Classroom

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

This book has lots of great ideas to use in the classroom. Great ideas for upper elementary. This is a great resource for a large classroom or a small homeschool. I love the activity to write to a “chocolate factory”. I used this book in a private school that I taught at a few years ago and ordered it this year for my own homeschool.I used this literature guide with my 6th grade English class. I found it to be a great help in really making the book a great joy for the students. The activities that were included in the book were easy to accomplish in one period and with basic materials.

A couple of my favorite activities from the book were “Create Your Own Golden Ticket” and “Writing a letter to a candy company” (Addresses for 5 different companies were given.) The kids wrote their letters and received some free things in the mail within a few weeks.

This book also comes with Chocoholic Recipes and Unit Tests. I found it to be a great companion for any teacher reading “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”. read more.
