My husband has had quite a few major surgeries since last June and has lost a lot of weight. He is now on the road to recovery, but all he has been through has left him very weak. He is not as sure footed as he used to be, but still wants to be independant and do for himself. We have 4 inch tiles surrounding our bathtub and I had a problem finding a rail that was both strong enough and long enough to fit from tile to tile and not go over the grout where air would get in and lossen the rail. The Health Circle Quick-Rail really filled the bill. I installed it on an angle and how he can get in and out of the tub without any help. I still check it to make sure it is secure before he takes a shower.Installed as directed and didn’t have a single problem with it staying on the wall of my walk in shower. Great for the first couple of months after having a hip replacementI have used shorter ones like this in the past. These really make shower and bath much safer and cling better than my other ones.I broke my leg and needed some assistance while showering. This handle is extremely sturdy. I like how easy it is to move from the wall to the side of the tub when I need to. Great for the price too!I didn’t order this bar for support, but rather to hold up my fabric shower curtain liner after a shower. I was having trouble with mildew from the curtain hanging against the wet tub, and this bar solved my problem perfectly! I had to install it slanted to fit my tiles, but it actually works better for me that way. It held to the tiles very tightly, and it is still there with no slippage at all. I have used it to hold onto for balance a few times as well, and it feels solid and secure. I love this bar, though I wouldn’t recommend it for someone needing full support in the tub, since I can’t say how well it would hold under weight. But for balance and light support it holds firmly. And of course, it’s perfect for holding up a wet curtain liner to air-dry. read more.

Saturday, February 6th, 2010I ordered this teak bench thinking it would fit into the corner of a shower. The feet were wider than they appeared in the picture/description, and woud not fit on the slight ledge inside the shower. I called the company (Medical Department Stores) to return this item (it was unused) and after being on hold for 15 minutes was informed that this isn’t returnable because its a “hygenic” item. Absolutely ridiculous! What a scam this company is pulling. This item was never used – we simply assembled it to see if it would work, which it didn’t. This is no different than a bench you can buy from any other store, and would be returned with no problem. Medical Department Stores falls back on “sorry – state law” to unethically refuse legitimate returns. I will be writing to this company to express my displeasure at their practices – not that it will do any good, but hopefully people will be warned off purchasing from this company by this review. This is a great addition to my stall shower. It cleans easily and the legs are adjustable. It appears it could also be used in a bath tub. It’s also very sturdy.sturdy and fit our shower well. other similar stools were priced much higher. i like the teakwood seat read more.
